The joy of committing myself to the Lord in the Congregation of Sisters Adorers, Kolkata province 9 January 2021
January 9, 2021
“My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” [Lk.1:46-47]
Along with Mary our most loving Mother I too proclaim the joy of having said ‘Yes’ to the Lord by committing my life entirely for Him. My first profession was held on 9 January in Puri Sisters Adorers convent chapel with all its solemnity. The pandemic couldn’t block to accomplish the plan of God so beautifully.
The Motto I have taken is “CALLED TO BE BROKEN AND SHRED” which gives much meaning to my call. I am called to be broken, giving up my total self for the salvific mission of Christ, through the Charism of our congregation Adoration –Liberation.
I was fortunate to make my first profession in Puri which is the cradle of Sisters Adorers presence in India. Rev. Archbishop John Barwa SVD was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist. Like a bride I was led in procession with lighted and decorated candle to the chapel along with my parents, sisters and the concelebrants. This crucial part of the ceremony was when I committed myself to the Lord to do His will by living the vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in my life. Each and every moments of the celebration was very graceful, significant and meaningful. In his homily, Archbishop John Barwa highlighted the unconditional “Yes” of Mother Mary. Like Mary, I too have said Yes to His Holy will, trusting fully that He will journey along with me all through my committed life. The beautiful choir led by Sr Bindu and other sister’s added meaning to the celebration and helped me to express the joy of my consecration.
Gratitude wells up my heart as I remember my formators and Sisters, who travelled along with me and prepared me during my vocational journey to reach this stage of my life. A special word of thanks to my sisters of Puri community for making this celebration and this day a very memorable and significant one for me . Thank You Lord, Thank you dear sisters.
